N
ature has best endowed Garhwal with  magnificent natural resources. Panwali Kantha, one of the high altitude meadows of  Garhwal  Himalayas, apart form its thrilling landscape is specially known for the spectacular display of the flowering herbs. At an altitude of 3658 meters, this meadow lies in the northern part of Garhwal Himalayas. One can also encounter  high altitude animals e.g Bharal, Ghoral, Himalayan Bear, and the rate musk deer.

Other than rich flora one can encounter outstanding views of Greater Himalayan peaks .

The trip involves trek to Panwali Kantha  and visit to three of the most important temple related to lord shiva . GuptaKasi ( The invisible Kashi for the Gods) Trijuginarayan –( Venue of lord Shivas marriage with Parvati)  and Kedarnath temple, considered to be the  holiest  of shiva shrines in the Himalayas. The temple stands in the shadow of Kedarnath  peak (6940 mts)  and one of the twelve Jyotirlingams or resplendent lingam, scattered over the country.

Itinerary

Day 01- RISHIKESH.   OVERNIGHT; HOTEL

Arrive Rishikesh  and transfer to Hotel. After dinner meet the crew and the trip leader, which will be followed by briefing on the trek. Meals and overnight  hotel.

Day 02- RISHIKESH /GHUTTU.  DRIVE: 5-6 HRS. OVERNIGHT CAMP

Morning  we drive to Ghuttu , a small Garhwali village and starting point of the trek. Enroute lunch. We try to explore . Meals and overnight  camp.

Day 03- GHUTTU/PANWALI KANTHA.   TREK: 6-7 HOURS OVERNIGHT CAMP

Morning after breakfast we start for Panwali. The trek today is very steep. About nine kilometers of steep ascent takes us to Panwali.  Arrive and camp in the meadow near a stream, as the entire meadow is full of crystal clear springs. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 04- PANWALI KANTHA/MAGGUCHATTI.  TREK: 4-5 HRS OVERNIGHT CAMP

Morning after breakfast we start descending towards maggu chatti . The entire trek is on rocky terrain and is strenuous. Arrive Maggu chatti and camp.  Meals and overnight camp.

Day 05- MAGGUCHATTI/GAURIKUND. OVERNIGHT CAMP

Early morning after breakfast trek to Trijugi narayan, a legendry  village where Shiva & Parvati were wedded. Arrive and visit the temple. After exploring the village we trek to aGaurikund. Today we camp little before Gurikund, near the  riever. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 06- GOURIKUND/KEDARNATH.    TREK: 5-6HRS  OVERNIGHT HOTEL

Morning we visit the Gaurikund temple and the hot springs. After words we proceed for Kedarnath. The entire trek is gradual ascent till we reach Kedarnath. Arrive Kedarnath & camp. Meals and overnight camp.

Day07-  KEDARNATH. OVERNIGHT HOTEL

Day free to visit the temple and explore the area. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 08- KEDARNATH/GAURIKUND.   TREK 5-6 HRS

Return trek. Arrive Gaurikund and have a refreshing dip in the hot spring pool. Meals and overninght camp.

Day 09- GAURIKUND/RISHIKESH.     DRIVE: 8-9 HRS OVERNIGHT HOTEL

Morning after breakfast we drive down to Rishikesh. Arrive Rishikesh and transfer to Hotel for meals and overnight  stay.

Day 10- RISHIKESH/ OUT.

Morning after breakfast proceed for onward destination.

Number of Persons on each trekking  trip: To make our trekking trips low impact & eco friendly, the treks are run with minimum 2 to maximum  6 persons in each trek.


The Fixed Departure trips are inclusive of:

1. Twin sharing accommodation at Road heads in Guest Houses / Tourist Bungalows/hotels during the entire trip. (As we give round the year business to the hotels we get very god discounted rates which are finally passed on to the clients , as we calculate the cost of the treks on discounted rates.)

2. All meals hygienically cooked and served by our specially trained staff for westerners. (We emphasize a lot on food and all our cooks are specially trained to provide hygienic food to westerners).

3. Transportation from Rishikesh to Rishikesh. (We have our own brand new Toyota Jeeps & mini buses, with handpicked drivers who have been trained to drive westerners on mountain roads).

 

4. Services of English speaking professional trekking guide, cook, and camp staff during the entire trip. (All our trekking Guides & camp staff are from this area only and know the area very well. All trekking Guides and most of the camp staff have dome First Aid and CPR courses and do refreshing courses every year)

5. All tourist taxes during the travel.

6. Visit to all important temples and places during the entire trip.

7. Camping equipment on the trek e.g. tents, mattresses, sleeping bags etc. (We have brand new spacious tents and other trekking equipment however we recommend clients to bring personal sleeping bags). 

8. Portage of food, camping & kitchen equipment on the trek.

9. Portage of personal baggage on trek. (Only in Deluxe options)

10.Trekking permits and camping fees on the treks.

 

Cost does not Include:

1. Items of personal nature e.g. table drinks, telephones, laundry, insurance, evacuation, damages /claims, & medical services and services in unforeseen circumstances.

2. Riding ponies on trek. ( Can be arranged on actual by the guide on the trip)

3. Any other trip other than specified above.

 

The above Cost is :

1. Subject to Government service taxes which are 3.09%   at present.

2. Non commissionable. 

3. Valid for the Trekking season for 2008 from February to December.
